January: Revival in the cold, Fire in our Hearts

January reminded us that winter is still very much alive in Ohio. With bitter temperatures and record snowfall, it would have been easy to slow down—but while it’s been cold outside, the fire has been burning hot inside the church.

We entered the year having already received a prophetic word that 2026 would be a year of revival, growth, and great miracles—and we are believing and expecting every bit of it.

One especially powerful moment came when Kayla Purdin prophesied through song that dead things would come alive. Specifically, the word declared that her barren womb—the dead thing—would come to life. As she sang, the entire church gathered around her in prayer, standing in agreement and believing God for the fulfillment of that promise. It was a sacred moment of faith, unity, and expectation. God also used the very quiet Chloe Gillham to boldly rise and call people to the altar, reminding us once again that God often chooses the shyest voices to draw hearts to Him.

We were blessed to hear a powerful message from Rev. Dallas Barber of I-68 Ministries, who reminded us that the Lord is not finished with any of us. No matter our age—young or old—God still has great and mighty things for us to do. That service concluded with the baptism of Kim Angel, who came up out of the water speaking in tongues—a powerful testimony of God’s continuing work.

We also celebrated what God is doing in the next generation. Maelyn Gregory was invited to preach at both the Southern Ohio District Youth Rally and Williams Corner Church. We are continually amazed by the impact God is making through this soon-to-be 14-year-old preacher. As Rev. Taylor Jimenz Walker often shares, Pastor Don is every young preacher’s biggest cheerleader—always ready with an “Amen” and encouragement that settles nerves and builds confidence. We are incredibly blessed to have a pastor who pours himself into the youth, raising up disciples to carry the gospel forward.

January also brought a powerful move of God through Rev. Jaylin Walden, who traveled to Southern Ohio and preached with her signature fire. She delivered a timely word on Grace in dry places and Wellness in Christ, teaching that true wellness requires intimacy, reduces ignorance, and brings increase. She then prophesied another word over our church for 2026—declaring it a year of divine healing, unwavering anointing, financial blessing, and steadfast faith.

During that same service, Rev. Jaylin spoke a prophetic word over Emily Profitt after hearing her sing, “I’m a living, breathing, walking testimony.” Emily experienced a whirlwind January—beginning the month saying “I will” to praise team member Elijah Joo, and ending it saying “I do.” We believe God has formed a true power couple in Elijah and Emily Joo, destined to do incredible things for His Kingdom.

Beyond the pulpit, God has also been moving through new launches. Our Youth Minister Jennifer Hutchens and Rev. Taylor Jimenz Walker launched their new podcast Bold as a Lion, now available on YouTube. Sister Hutchens also celebrated a major milestone this month—she authored her first book, With Purpose: A Mother’s Guide to Practical, Biblical Fasting, now available on Amazon.

While a foot of snow forced us to cancel one Sunday service, we are boldly declaring that nothing will stop the fire of revival burning in our church. January may have been cold, but God is heating things up—and we’re just getting started.
