April 2026 at Living Church of Five Mile will be remembered as more than just a series of services—it was a defining month, marked by powerful encounters, fresh fire, and undeniable evidence that God is still moving among His people.
✝️ Good Friday
We began the month with a meaningful milestone as Rev. Jeremiah Purdin delivered his very first Good Friday message. With heartfelt conviction, he reminded us that even in the darkest moment of the cross, hope was being born. As he emphasized the redemptive power of Jesus’ sacrifice, the message was beautifully reinforced through the song “Barabbas,” painting a vivid picture of the exchange that changed everything.
🌅 Resurrection Sunday
Resurrection Sunday dawned with a powerful sunrise service led by Rev. Danny Hutchens, setting the tone for a day centered on victory and life. Later that morning, Pastor Don White brought a stirring message titled “Why Seek Ye the Living Among the Dead?” Drawing from the well-known words of S. M. Lockridge, Pastor reminded us of the hope found in the resurrection. He then shared a Spirit-inspired continuation that echoed throughout the sanctuary:
It’s Sunday. The stone is rolled away, The tomb is empty, Death couldn’t hold my Jesus, The soldiers are afraid, It’s Sunday. Satan’s head is crushed, The grave lost its victory, Death has lost its sting, It’s Sunday. The Pharisees are lying, The disciples are perplexed, The angels are proclaiming: “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”
The following Sunday, Pastor White brought our focus to Mary, the first to the empty tomb—a faithful worshipper whose obedience and devotion captured the Lord’s attention. The message was clear: a life of worship and obedience never goes unnoticed by God.
🙏 Preparing the Ground
In anticipation of revival, the church gathered for an all-night prayer meeting the Friday before. From 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, prayer and worship filled the sanctuary, preparing hearts and paving the way for what would become an unforgettable move of God. Those prayers did not fall to the ground—they ignited something powerful.
🎤 A Revival Like No Other
Revival began with Pastor Marquez Johnson from Cleveland, Ohio, who opened with the message “If These Walls Could Talk.” By Sunday night, the atmosphere had shifted even deeper as he declared, “Hell Can’t Have This House.” The presence of God moved so strongly that lives were forever marked—many responded to the altar, hungry for more of Him.
Next, Evangelist Elijah Beers from Community Family Church in Independence, Kentucky carried the momentum forward. His message, “Press On to Your Potential,” challenged us not to leave this earth with unfulfilled, God-given purpose. He followed with “Obedience That Changed History,” reminding us that simple obedience to Jesus has the power to transform everything.
The revival fire continued with Pastor Garrett Prewitt from Muncie, Indiana, who brought a call for fresh oil—not old, not borrowed, but new and overflowing. His messages “Build Again” and “Please Don’t Bury Me Yet” stirred hearts with a reminder that God is not finished with us. One statement lingered long after the service ended: “When I die, I want both heaven and hell to rejoice—heaven because I completed my assignment, and hell because I’m no longer a threat.”
Closing out the revival, Evangelist Robbie Grubbs and his wife Kira brought a powerful finish. Sharing their journey—even traveling with their 10-month-old son across the country to preach the gospel—he delivered a compelling message: “Swing the Sickle—Harvest Time Is Here.”
He reminded us of the power in the blood and boldly declared: “I am invincible until the Lord is finished with me.”
His final message centered on the power in the name of Jesus, leaving us with a powerful illustration of the Passover lamb: when the lamb was presented, the priest didn’t examine the people—he examined the lamb. What a reminder that God sees not our past, but the Lamb we present—Jesus Christ.
🙏 Moving Forward
As revival came to a close, one truth remained: this wasn’t an ending—it was a launching pad. Pastor White declared it to be the greatest revival our church has ever experienced, and there is a shared anticipation for what comes next.
At Living Church of Five Mile, we are not content to let the fire fade. We are carrying it forward.
🔥Let the fire burn even brighter. 🔥
