February: A Month of Seeking and Surrender

📸 February at Living Church of Five Mile continued with the same fire that began burning in January. There is something special about looking back through the Sunday recaps shared by our media team, led by Sister Kayla Purdin. Week after week, the images tell the story of a congregation fully engaged in worship—hands lifted, voices raised, and altars filled with people crying out to God for themselves and for others. The Holy Spirit is truly having His way among us.

📖 One of the highlights of February was hearing from several of our young ministers as they stepped into the pulpit. Rev. Samuel Byrd delivered a powerful message titled “Lack of Faith, Now Faith, and Contagious Faith.” Rev. Taylor Jimenez Walker shared a timely word on “Waiting on the Lord.” Rev. Jeremiah Purdin brought the message “Seek Me.” Watching these young preachers grow in their callings is a joyful thing for our church family. The passion and fire in these ministers is undeniable—it is the kind of fire that surely causes the enemy to tremble.

🕊️ We were also honored to welcome Bishop and District Overseer Wayne Ison back to Five Mile. When he visits, it feels less like hosting a guest and more like welcoming family home. As always, he delivered a word that was perfectly timed for our church, preaching on the importance of reviving the oil and allowing God to renew the anointing in our lives.

February was not only a time of powerful services but also a month filled with fellowship and connection throughout our ministries.

⛷️ Our youth ministry enjoyed a trip to Perfect North Slopes. With plenty of snow and cold weather this year, the slopes were fast and fun—just the way Pastor says they should be. It was a great time for our young people to enjoy fellowship and create lasting memories together.

💗 Our Ladies’ Ministry gathered for a Galentine’s meeting at Olive Garden, sharing laughter, encouragement, and of course great food. Meanwhile, our youth ministry hosted a Valentine celebration for the kids, bringing families together for another time of food, fun, and fellowship.

🙏 During the month, Pastor Don underwent cataract surgery on both eyes. While he took time to recover and had to take things a little slower, Pastor Danny Hutchens faithfully stepped in to keep things moving forward, ensuring the excitement and momentum in the pulpit never slowed down. We are truly blessed with a strong Associate Pastor who supports the vision God has given for Five Mile. Most importantly, we continue to see souls saved and lives changed. God is moving, and we are grateful that He is moving in our church.

🌷 As we look ahead, spring is just around the corner. In nature, spring represents revival, renewal, and planting seeds for a future harvest. As a church, we are declaring that the same will happen in the spiritual realm as well.

The fire is still burning at Living Church of Five Mile—and we believe the best is yet to come.
