April Showers, Overflowing Spirit They say April showers bring May flowers, and with the rain we’ve seen in the Ohio Valley, we’re expecting a full bloom—both outside and in the Spirit! Every service this month was filled with the presence of God. The altars have been full as many come to know the Lord or press deeper into their relationship with Him. We are blessed to be part of a truly praying church.
Adult Sunday School Highlight Rev. Taylor Jimenez Walker blessed us with a powerful series on “The Battlefield of the Mind.” She has helped us see how easily “stinking thinking” can sneak into our lives—and how we can overcome it through the Word.
Superwoman Spotlight: Jennifer Hutchens Jennifer Hutchens is truly a pillar in our church: Associate Pastor’s wife, Sunday School Superintendent, Assistant Youth Pastor, homeschooler, homesteader—you name it! This April, she led a team of our youth to serve at the Pregnancy Resource Center’s banquet (they even poured tea for a U.S. Senator!). The next day? She ran in a color run. Sister Jennifer’s energy and heart are unmatched!
Little Lights, Big Impact: Sister Hannah Byrd Our children’s ministry is thriving thanks to volunteers like Sister Hannah Byrd! Her fun-filled classroom is a place of creativity and worship. This Easter, she led our little ones in a beautiful Palm Sunday march. And when she sings, heaven listens. Her husband, Brother Sam Byrd, also ministered a strong word this month and will be joining Pastor on the Pakistan Crusade in September.
Pakistan Crusade Bible Drive We’re raising funds to send Bibles—translated into local languages—for the upcoming crusade in Pakistan. Overseer Bishop Paulus says that when one Bible reaches a home, entire families come to know Christ. Want to help? Contact any member of the leadership team to give.
A Miracle in Our Midst: Rev. Daniel Begley Doctors gave up on Daniel Begley—but God had the final word! Thanks to the prayers and fasting led by Sisters Kristy Joo and Sonia Lovell, Daniel is now testifying of God’s healing power before heading back to Kansas. Praise God for this walking miracle!
Celebrating 61 Years: The Dixons Brother Terry and Sister Shirley Dixon celebrated 61 years of marriage! Sister Shirley also retired as Church Treasurer, passing the role to Sister Sonia Lovell. We thank the Dixon family for their decades of faithful service and dedication to the church.
Resurrection Weekend Recap
Guest Message: Rev. Wayne Ison Our District Overseer and Five Mile family member, Rev. Wayne Ison, brought a powerful word: “How to Turn Bitterness Into Blessing.” His reminder: you can have the anointing but still miss the power if you let bitterness take root.
Until Next Time…We thank God for every answered prayer and new beginning this month. Let’s carry this momentum into May with expectation! |
